# Application Gallery

The Application Gallery features COMSOL Multiphysics® tutorial and demo app files pertinent to the electrical, structural, acoustics, fluid, heat, and chemical disciplines. You can use these examples as a starting point for your own simulation work by downloading the tutorial model or demo app file and its accompanying instructions.

Search for tutorials and apps relevant to your area of expertise via the Quick Search feature. To download the MPH-files, log in or create a COMSOL Access account that is associated with a valid COMSOL license. Note that many of the examples featured here can also be accessed via the Application Libraries that are built into the COMSOL Multiphysics® software and available from the File menu.

### Gray Body

A gray body with a spherical cavity with various opening areas is simulated using the _Heat Transfer, Surface-to-Surface Radiation_ interface. The emissivity for each case is computed and compared with the classical gray body theory. The COMSOL Multiphysics® result agrees very ... Read More

### Thermal Insulation on Internal Boundary

The purpose of this model is to introduce the Thermal Insulation feature available in Heat Transfer interfaces. Thermal Insulation is the default feature for external boundaries. An additional Thermal Insulation node is necessary in order to apply a thermal insulation condition to an ... Read More

### Heat and Moisture Transport with Mold Growth Prediction

This tutorial demonstrates how to use the temperature and relative humidity computed by the simulation of heat and moisture transport in an insulated roof as inputs for a mold prediction model. The VTT model for mold growth and decline prediction computes a mold index M by solving an ... Read More

### HAMSTAD Benchmark 1: Heat and Moisture Transport in an Insulated Roof

This tutorial shows how to simulate coupled heat and moisture transport in an insulated roof structure, made of a load bearing and an insulation layer. The thermal insulation is facing the interior and there is a moisture barrier facing the exterior. The load bearing is capillary active ... Read More

### How to Improve the Performance of View Factor Computation for Surface-to-Surface Radiation

This model shows how to use the features of the Heat Transfer Module to reduce the computation time and memory usage in view factor computations. Illustrative results of speedup and memory usage reduction are given on a benchmark model. The solution is not computed, only the view ... Read More

### Transient Conduction in a Wall, Lumped Thermal System

This model performs a transient analysis of the temperature through a house wall. The wall is formed of different layers corresponding to the structure, insulation and plaster. On the exterior and the interior, the wall is exposed to thermal radiation and convective cooling. The results ... Read More
