COMSOL Updating Progress in Matlab

Turning the progress bar on and off while a COMSOL simulation is running in Matlab seems to work (with recent patches). However, I'd like to actually interrupt the COMSOL solver, say, after the matrix assembly stage, and then after the preconditioning stage, to send a "progress report" to Matlab for timing purposes. Is this possible?

Hi Matt

The functionality you are looking for is currently not available, but we will consider this for a future release of Comsol.

Do you really need to have access to the solution after e.g. the assembly stage or do you just need information about the time each stage takes? Will it be sufficient to have this information in a log file?

It would be preferable to have the information live, during the simulation. However, it would be fine to have the information after the simulation for each stage to get a general feel for how long each stage took.
